Welsh Long Term Ventilation and Weaning Team

The Welsh Long Term Ventilation and Weaning Team (LTiV) is based in the University Hospital of Wales, Cardiff.

Refer a patient:

LTiV and Weaning MDT referrals are reviewed weekly. We may need to contact you and your team for further information prior to a decision, or do an in-person review.

A formal response will follow our weekly MDT and come to you via the NHS email address you have submitted. This response will also be uploaded onto Welsh Clinical Portal (WCP).

Patients accepted for a trial of weaning or for LTiV in CVUHB may need to return to their Local Health Board pending decisions about final discharge destination and CHC (Continuing Health Care) funding.
